2014 Social Justice Award Recipient

Leadership Rockland is a recipient of Nyack College’s 2014 Social Justice Award. The award will be presented at a luncheon on Friday, January 17 at 12:30 PM at the Nyack Seaport, 21 Burd Street, Nyack NY 10960.

A Rockland County entrepreneur, Maria Luisa Whittingham, owner of Maria Luisa Boutique and ML Gifts & Accessories, both in downtown Nyack, will also receive a Social Justice Award. Maria is also a graduate of the Leadership Rockland Program.

Leadership Rockland Alumni Take New Positions

Congratulations is extended to the following Leadership Rockland Alumni on their new positions:

  • Lizanne Fiorentino (Class of 2006) has been elected as the new Board President for the Hi-Tor Animal Care Center
  • Alden Wolfe, Esq. (Class of 2004) has been selected as the Rockland County Legislature‚Äôs new Chairman

New REDC Board Members Leadership Rockland Alumni

Four of the newest members on the board of directors of the Rockland Economic Development Corporation (REDC) are graduates of the Leadership Rockland program, including:

  • Sara Tucker (Class of 2001)
  • Jill Warner (Class of 2004)
  • Kevin Duignan (Class of 2001)

Rockland Economic Development Corporation (REDC) focuses on building Rockland’s economy by creating and attracting new businesses and retaining and expanding existing businesses to stimulate job growth as a way of improving the quality of life in Rockland County. Its role is to coordinate the operations of economic development programs and services for business and industry in Rockland County.
